India's format experiments keep accelerating. Kuku TV launched Sabse Bada Dramebaaz, an acting reality microdrama. The show spans 50 episodes, each about two minutes. Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi and digital stars Jannat Zubair and Prince Narula judge the competition, which drew over 2,000 audition entries through social channels. Viewers watch on mobile apps in Apple's App Store and Google Play.

China's regulator has turned its focus to microdrama content. The National Radio and Television Administration told producers to drop "trashy storylines" and stock characters like the tyrannical CEO. Bloomberg reported the crackdown targets sensationalism, including soft pornography, violence, and materialism.

A new Kantar study commissioned by ShareChat and Moj found 80% of Indian smartphone users prefer microdramas. Among viewers, 86% spend at least 15 minutes daily. Microdrama ads generated 84% brand recall and 82% purchase intent, according to Indian Television.

Omdia's latest numbers show iPhone users spend about $14 per week on microdrama apps, compared with $10 for Android users. Maria Rua Aguete, Head of Media & Entertainment at Omdia, put it this way:
